Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project Annual Gala
The Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) Annual Gala celebrates and honors the work of extraordinary individuals who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to serving the public good and equal justice.
This year, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, the VLP celebrated its 28th Annual Gala - the organization’s premier fundraising event – at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and proudly honor Jeffrey B. Gewirtz, Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment and Jonathan Stoler, Partner, Global Co-Practice Group Leader - Labor and Employment Practice, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP. The evening's program also featured the presentation of the Champion of Justice Awards to the following deserving recipients: Jenna E. Browning, Associate, Paul Hastings LLP; Jason A. Georges, Associate, Hogan Lovells US LLP; Daryl Leon, Associate, Proskauer Rose LLP; and Lindsay Colvin Stone, Associate, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP.
Funds raised strengthen the vital work of the VLP, including direct legal services, innovative legal education and outreach programs in consumer debt, foreclosure, immigration, family law and elder law, as well as the training and supervision of volunteer attorneys from the private bar to assist thousands of Brooklyn families and individuals facing life-altering legal challenges.
